My pitbull had this too, I thought it was staph infection because I had googled to see pictures.
She actually had pimples on her hiney from peeing in the grass and being rubbed the wrong way.. Then when she would play w/ our other puppy he would nip at her hind  legs and agitate the pimples and cause them to break open a.k.a the rash.  So we took her to the vet - before we knew what was wrong w/ her- and it cost us 90$ for the vet visit and a 2 week prescription on an antibiotic... But I found a cheaper way..

Whenever you bathe your dog, use an antibacterial/anti-fungal soap - leave it on for about ten minutes..and rinse and that's a lot cheaper than the vet!!

Good luck,

It sounds like your dog might be having an allergic reaction to something. Have you ever noticed any type of rash on him before? Is it possible that he ingested something new? Do they seem to bother him or itch? You might want to consult with your vet if you do not notice an improvement in the rash.

This could be allergies, contact dermatitis, or superficial bacterial infection.  I would have this examined by your veterinarian during the next flare up to determine the cause and start appropriate treatment.  If it is allergic in nature your veterinarian can talk to you about a treatment plan to prevent flare ups in the future.

I do not know for sure.  You should take your dog to the Vet.  It may be as simple as having sensitive skin or skin allergies.  Often commercial pet soaps / shampoos contain harsh ingredients contributing to poor skin conditions:  Redness, inflammation, itching, burning, dryness, rashes, etc...

Consider using a homemade pet shampoo made with mild and gentle, natural, ingredients. There is an Au Natural pet soap that is, especially, good for pets with sensitive skin.  It contains no added fragrance(s), whatsoever.  It is so mild and gentle it can be used on pets  that are pregnant or seizure prone.  It gently cleanses and conditions the hair and skin.  It is a healthful, natural, pet soap.

These symptoms normally indicate cancer or tumors. Is your pet suffering from loss of appetite or weight loss? Wounds start to bleed or blood comes out of any opening. I don't think these are rashes. Take it to vet soon. If cancer is found then its treatments include chemotherapy or radiation. These can be just lumps if there is no pain in there. Keep its surroundings clean.
